Miss Rolene Strauss from South Africa was picked as the Miss World 2014 at the pageant’s final event held at Excel ICC Auditorium, London on 14.12.14.
This is the third time South Africa won the pageant, an event held every year to pick the most beautiful woman in the world.
They are selected from the crop of the most beautiful woman of their respective countries and the event is to select the fairest of them all.
This year’s annual event had an extra twist in it compared to previous pageants because it just got more high tech for the spectators waiting gleefully around the globe. It just managed to reach to a wider and broader audience because the Miss World pageant is available via the apps and can be streamed direct to many devices, tablets and mobiles. It can even be streamed through game consoles via the official Miss World channel and You tube. It is an event that was tweeted more by Twitter and made wider appearance in friends’ sharing via Facebook.
So the Miss World event this year has become a new deal for the increasing tech savvy audience around the globe waiting for this event in anticipation of something new and novel. Audience who missed the direct broadcast via their usual delivery channel, the television would be able to feast on it on more alternative channels. Such an offer by the organiser is something to be commended because they have key in the minds of their faithful audience and manage to reinvent their delivery and coverage to better suit their taste.
Even the Miss World finalist themselves get better. More brains and not just beauty alone. Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss is a third year medical student at the Free State Medical College. Her father is a doctor and her mom is a nurse. She came from a family of academics and medical practitioners. They may be a lot of tweets and gossips that lend credence to the aphorism that all beauty and no brain. Some loose tongue may wag about all brawn and no brain for the male counterpart in the Mr Universe event. Miss Strauss is able to break that mould and come out top of the world as the most beautiful and brainy.
The previous year 2013 Miss World was Megan Young from the Philippines. She was an actress. Miss World 2012 was Wenxia Yu from China.
So the crop of the contestant just gets better this year, not just in terms of high tech offer by the organisers but also their personal profile.

Her imposing height combined with her almost crescent shaped smile and perfectly fair complexion has captivated the spectators worldwide watching the event on Sunday. It was a Sunday on 14.12.14 and there were simply more eyes glued on the event. Her looks simply mellowed the hearts of so many that so few can possess. She managed to add a daub of colour to this year’s event by adding an element of humility and compassion.
Miss World pageant every year is always about beauty and later brain, a theme inserted by the organisers to add an extra twist. This may be an extra factor to edge out one contestant from the other in a pool of the most beautiful in the world. After all, they are the most beautiful woman in their respective country. Miss Strauss managed to add an extra twist to the mundane by promising to visit Honduras and lay a plaque in memory of the murdered Miss Honduras. The murdered Miss Honduras was killed by her sister’s boyfriend probably because of jealousy. It will send a message through the global scale against violence, particularly violence against women. What event that would most effectively highlight this crusade against violence, of course it is the Miss World pageant. So she really has brain. By choosing this high profile event at the world stage, she manage to offer a message so effective and powerful that it would go a long way towards reducing violence in the world.
Adulations to you, Miss Rolene Strauss, you can think out of the box within the boxy platform of the Miss World Pageant. You do South Africa proud and would definitely increase more tourist dollars to your country.

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
